BLUE
& GOLD BANQUET (Sat,
March 7, 2009)
Page 1
The Blue and Gold
Banquet is basically a Pack Meeting with a meal. Like most
recognition dinners, it's a long event that lasts about 3 hours and
grandparents are invited as well as parents and older siblings.
Lots and lots of
patches and other awards are typically presented at Blue & Gold
Banquets; and that was certainly the case this year. It takes a
bit of time, but every boy deserves his due recognition.

| Blue & Gold
Banquets are a time for some friendly completion to see which
den can best decorate their tables to convey the theme of the
banquet. This year's theme was "Scouting in the Wild,
Wild West." The Webelos den made a banner and had
their tables decorated with placemats, feathers, kerosene
lanterns, and napkins folded in the shape of scout neckerchiefs.
Naturally, the color scheme was blue and gold. |

| The Bear den staked out territory
at the front of the room. |

Before the meeting got started,
the Cub Scouts enjoyed looking at all the cakes. |
