BLUE & GOLD BANQUET (March 7, 2010)
Page 1

The annual Blue & Gold Banquet is a time for the entire pack to get together for dinner and an evening of fun and fellowship.  Each den plans their own meal and compete to see who can best decorate their tables.

With 2010 being the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America, the theme for this year's banquet was "100 Years of Scouting."

Among other things, the directors of the Mohawk District Cub Scout Day Camp program showed up and made a presentation about day camp.

All of Pack 868's fully uniformed scouts were recognized.

Each den had decorated their own section of tables and arranged their own meals.   Balloons and placemats made by the Cubs were standard fare.

And, of course, the dominant colors were blue and gold! Assistant Cubmasters Meek and Brown had a fancy table complete with candles for their steak dinners.

No, these scouts are not orphans.  Their parents were still in the serving line!   The men in this family obviously all know how to enjoy a good meal.
Day Camp directors Angel Mattingly and Barbara Weber visited to promote Mohawk Day Camp. They had the Pack's leaders try to act out all the things scouts would get to do at camp.

Whatever this activity was, some leaders were obviously more enthusiastic about it than others! Mohawk Day Camp Program Director Angel Mattingly, Pack 868 Assistant Cubmaster Bob Meek, and Day Camp Director Barbara Weber.
