CANDY BAR SALE  (September 2011)

Twice each year, Boy Scout Troop 868 sells candy bars.  Cub Scouts from Pack 868 help fill the shifts.  For many of the Cub Scouts, the September Candy Bar Sale is their first experience selling anything to the general public, so it's a great learning experience in how to approach strangers and handle money.  The Cubs enjoy working with the older Boy Scouts who teach them how to stand, how to act, and what to say and do.  Customers find it hard not to buy a $1 candy bar from the cute little guys in their scout uniforms, so the partnership works out well for both units!

We sold our last candy bars around 2 PM on Sunday afternoon and switched over to selling flags that were leftover from our Flag Sale back in May.

Featured here are photos of Pack 868 Cub Scouts as various selling locations.  More photos of the candy sale are posted on the troop's website and may be viewed by clicking here.
