WEEKLY DEN MEETINGS (January~May, 2008)

During weekly den meetings, Cub Scouts work on rank advancement requirements, make crafts, play games, and/or take field trips.  Activities are planned by the Den Leaders and can vary widely from week to week.  But emphasis is always on learning in a FUN way.

At the end of the meetings, scouts help stow away the tables and chairs and clean up the room.

Many meetings also involve games.  This one requires each boy to have a balloon tied to one leg.

Den Leader Linda Zimmerman explains the rules and the boundaries of the "playing field."   Then the action begins.  The object is to break the other players' balloons.

But breaking the balloons turns out to be a bit more difficult than one might initially imagine.   It doesn't take long for the field of contenders to narrow down to only a few remaining players.

Dawson, Caden, Josh, Isaiah, Hunter, and Tre visit the old Bullitt County Jail, a historic landmark.   The boys also got to meet a deputy sheriff and take a look inside his squad car.

Jesse enjoyed a game of checks as well as completed an advancement requirement for Wolf.   During closing ceremonies, scouts listened as Cubmaster Bob Meek explained details about an upcoming activity.
