WEEKLY DEN MEETINGS (January~May, 2008)

During weekly den meetings, Cub Scouts work on rank advancement requirements, make crafts, play games, and/or take field trips.  Activities are planned by the Den Leaders and can vary widely from week to week.  But emphasis is always on learning in a FUN way.

At the meeting prior to Scout-O-Rama, the scouts played the game they will run in the Pack's booth.

The boys did a good job of taking turns and giving everyone a chance to play.

The leaders let the boys play as much as they wanted so that they'd "get it out of their system" and be ready to let visitors to our booth play when they got to Scout-O-Rama.

On this night the Tiger Cub den paid a visit to the main Shepherdsville Fire Station.   Firefighter Greenwell showed the boys a ladder, one of the basic tools that firefighters use.

Everyone agreed the fire truck lights were plenty bright.   What firehouse visit would be complete without getting to sit in the fire trucks?

Firefighter Guffey explains all the equipment as he dresses Den Chief Chris in firefighting gear.   Shepherdsville residents can sleep soundly knowing that junior firefighters Josh, Hunter, Tre, and Caden are on duty.
