CAMP
FRIEDLANDER 2008 (Friday~Sunday, April 25~27)
| After
breakfast, the next order of business was to get the flag
raised. Cubmaster Bob Meek took a few minutes to review
the procedure with Webelos Scouts Chase and Preston, since
neither had experience using a real flagpole. He reviewed
how to use the clips to secure the flag to the rope, how to
hoist the colors, how to lower them, and how to work together as
a Color Guard team to properly fold the flag. |
| Then it
was time for the real deal. Den Chief Chris took over and
called the troops into formation. The two Webelos did a
great job and got the colors up the pole like old pros. |
| Next up was a hike
around Camp Friedlander, including the trail that circles around
Fish Island. |
Josh posed next to
the totem poles that stood at the edge of the parade field near
the camp chapel. |
| A portion of one
trail circled Lake Marge Schott in the center of Camp
Friedlander. |
The hike even
included a bit of rock climbing up a short, but relatively steep
slope. |
| While part of the
group went hiking, others preferred to spend the morning
fishing. |
Later in the program,
Cub Scout Scott is awarded his Bobcat Badge.
