WEEKEND TENT CAMPING (August 12~14, 2011)
JELLYSTONE PARK near Mammoth Cave

Pack 868's first camping trip of the 2011-2012 program year was a weekend tent camping trip to Jellystone Park near Mammoth Cave.  The park featured a water slide, a putt-putt golf course, and several other attractions to keep the boys entertained.  The group used canvas wall tents borrowed from Boy Scout Troop 868.  We had a good turnout and the weather was wonderful ... sunny and clear, but not too hot.  It was a great end to summer vacation and a great a start to another fun year of Cub Scouting in Pack 868!

Cubs gather to discuss what to do now that the tents are set up. These guys took a water break a table under the dining tarp.  Erecting tents is hard work.
Cutting wood is an activity that always attracts attention. So, exactly how many Pack 868 does it take to cut one little log?
Everybody grab a pad, it's time to try out the water slide. Webelos Cub Scout Gavin shows the guys how it's done.
Wheeee!!!! Of course, some showed a little more syle than others!  Are we having fun, Mr. Embry?
