KidsFest (Saturday, March 13, 2010)

KidsFest is a half-day show sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce.  The exhibition is held at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre and is basically a trade fair of different youth organizations and businesses who cater to elementary-aged children.

About a hundred businesses and organizations set up display booths to hand out information along with a host of "give away" items such as pencils, balloons, stickers, and candy.  Several thousand area residents typically attend.

Boy Scout Troop 868 has been involved in the program since it's beginning.  The troop always helps with the program and has a booth.  As they have for the past two years, the Troop shared their space with Cub Pack 868.

Because the KidsFest crowd is generally more interested in Cub Scouting than Boy Scouting, Pack parents and Cubs staffed the Scouting information booth.  Meanwhile, the scouts of Troop 868 setup and manned an adjoining information booth about Disabilities Awareness.  More photos of the troop's display can be found on the troop's website at www.bsatroop868.com/KidsFest2010.htm.
