OVERNIGHT LOCK-IN  (December 4, 2009)

With the weather being too cool for Cub Scout tent camping, Pack 868 decided to host an overnight lock-in as one of their December pack activities.  First Baptist Church in Shepherdsville offered the use of their gym which turned out to be an ideal facility.  Scouts played basketball, dodge ball, and various board games.  Shortly before midnight pizza and ice cream were served as a snack before everyone settled down to watch a movie projected onto a large screen.  Most of the boys (and several of the parents) dozed off; but a few hardy souls managed to stay awake all night.  The event ended with juice and doughnuts being served before parents came to pickup their worn-out campers around 8 AM and the leaders went home to sleep!

Kenneth and Kaleb take a short rest.

Tom and Tonya Gordon prepared to spend a night locked in a gym with dozens of Cub Scouts.

Checkers was a popular board game along with Life.  UNO was the favorite card game.   Assistant Cubmaster Bob Meek got everyone lined up to count off and form teams for dodge ball.

Adam prepares to take a toss and (hopefully) knock a player from the opposing team out of the game.   In this game, one team came down to Mr. Gordon and Cub Scouts Thomas and Dawson.

Cubmaster Steven Frank was right in the middle of things with the guys.   Dodge ball in the round was also popular.

Mr. Frank helps a scout get the kind of pizza he preferred.   If you want to make Cub Scouts happy, simply feed them pizza and ice cream at midnight!

Den Chief Drew claims the corner.   After the snack, it was time for a movie.
