Members of the Wolf Den busy sanding away. The boys did it all, including painting their cars in the color of their choice.
Travis got some help from his dad when it came time to attach the wheels.   Kenneth installs some extra weight onto his car.  The goal is make the car weigh exactly 5 ounces.
Thomas holds up his finished car.   On race day, Michael brings his car to Webelos Leader Chuck Hall for the official weigh-in.

After the cars are weighed, they are placed on 2x4s in the "pit area" and nothing else may be done to them.  The owner of the car is the only person who touches the car.
Our "boy-built" cars aren't as fancy or detailed as the "father-built" cars typically seen in most packs, but the boys are just as proud of them and they are competitive within Pack 868.  We don't even bother sending boys to race at the District level.
