RAUSCH PLANETARIUM (December
2010)
As a special
Christmas season event, the Pack took a Saturday afternoon trip to visit
the Rausch Planetarium on the campus of the University of
Louisville. The show we saw had to do with the origin of many of
our modern day Christmas customs, including some theories about the Star
of Bethlehem. The cost was nominal and the program lasted about 45
minutes, so the whole activity only took about 3 hours. We had an
excellent turnout of Cub Scouts and even a few Boy Scouts from Troop 868
tagged along.
Pack 868 parents and
siblings and Boy Scouts from Troop 868 waited as Pack Leaders
lined the Cub Scouts up for a photograph.
In the gift shop after
the show, Troop Assistant Scoutmaster Jeff Hagerman showed the
boys how the vortex-shaped spiral wishing well operated.
