CHRISTMAS CAROLING  (Sat, Dec 20, 2008)

On the Saturday morning before Christmas, Pack 868 Cub Scouts met at the Community Center to make Christmas tree ornaments.  The group then boarded the Troop 868 bus and visited a local nursing home where they sang Christmas Carols in the hallways and handed out the ornaments to the residents and staff.

Step 1:  Pack parents Lisa Rich and Dana Poyner traced a horse head pattern onto red felt.

Step 2:  Pack parent Alan Wetzel cut the felt to form the horses' heads.

Step 3:  Den Chief Dylan helped Cub Scouts and their family members add a fringe mane and holder.   Step 4:  Cub parent Steven Frank helped Cubs Kenneth, Caden, and Connor glue the heads.

Step 5:  Eyes were then hot glued onto both sides of the head. Step 6:  A candy cane is inserted and the ornament is completed.

The finished product was a Candy Cane Horse Christmas Tree ornament.
